05\/07\/2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proverbs 12 v 17\nSpeak truth<\/strong> in your hearts<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe who speaks truth, tells what is right.<\/em>\u201d
Everything we do and say, every thought, originates from the heart<\/strong>, which is deceitful and desperately wicked, to begin with and for this reason we rather seek darkness than light, because we are born in sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How do we then \u201cspeak truth in our hearts<\/em>\u201d?
The only way, in my opinion, we can do this is when \u201cwickedness becomes an abomination to your lips<\/em>\u201d (Prov 8 v 7)
Lying no longer becomes an option<\/strong>. Not even telling \u201ca white lie\u201d should cross your mind, for we should have the mind of Christ<\/strong>, according to the Word and He was blameless and knew no sin. This is why we should die to the flesh each day or it will drag us down and cause us to sin. I digress\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adam and Eve blatantly lied<\/strong> to God and look where that got them. Having free will to do what was right in the Lord\u2019s sight, she said the devil made her do it and he (Adam) said she made him do it. Lying and lack of accountability<\/strong> go hand in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is more to speaking the truth in your heart than simply telling the truth at all times\u2026
It should become a way of life<\/strong>, living according to the truth of God. His Spirit aligning yours<\/strong>, enabling you to walk in truth according to His principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remember how Pilate asked Jesus, \u201cwhat is truth?<\/strong>\u201d, after Jesus claimed to be a \u201cwitness to the truth<\/em>\u201d? He then washed his hands in front of the people and even though he stated he could find nothing wrong, handed Jesus over to them, to decide His lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was Pilate truthful in the manner He dealt with Jesus\u2019 hearing? He clearly couldn\u2019t find any truth in their accusations. In retrospect, it makes no difference really, because Jesus had to die for our redemption <\/strong>as it was prophesied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having said that, we should ask ourselves if we are a Pilate, who didn\u2019t stand up for The Ultimate and Absolute Truth<\/strong> when he needed to, which clearly exposed his character or will our words \u201ccome from an upright heart<\/em>\u201d, made new through the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life<\/strong>. We cannot live a lie and expect Him to grant us undeserved favour. If you are struggling to always speak the truth and live according to the truth, I pray that the Lord will give you the grace to overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
